Today I was telling my students that I'm going to be gone on Friday. Before I could tell them it was to a town nearby for an inservice, Mindy, who is a very quirky girl in grade two, blurted out, "Where are you going, Miss Smith? China?"
To which I replied, "Of course."
And without missing a beat, she replied, "Oh, well bring me back a fortune cookie!"
