Classroom Quotables

Today, one of my students told me about his fishing trip. "I caught this huge, 700 pound jackfish!"

"Hmmm," I said, "700 pounds is bigger than your whole boat. Do you think it may have been 7 pounds?"

To which he replied, "Ya, maybe about that."

I can see he's going to need some extra practice estimating.

Another student was telling me about his summer when they went to the waterpark. He told me that he was scared to go down the biggest waterslide because..."I'm afraid of hikes."
