So far this year, my first year of teaching, I've had the stomach flu (or gastro something something as Auntie Sonja told us last weekend) 2 times, 3 sinus colds, 2 chest colds, and at least 2 throat infections. Not to mention a few regular old common colds. A couple of these bouts of sickness have been considerably lengthy in duration, one of them lasting over a month.
Today I have a sore throat and am planning to sanitize my hands every two minutes all day...because 3 of my students have thrown up a total of 8 times at school in the past 2 days.
